    Taylor Eats: Sunday In Brooklyn

Located in the heart of Williamsburg, Sunday In Brooklyn is the perfect restaurant to have brunch. Why? Because they serve brunch EVERY SINGLE DAY until 4 pm! Can you imagine brunching on a Tuesday afternoon?I love brunching so much that I had to take a trip to Sunday in Brooklyn to see what it was like to brunch on a weekday. All of the positive Yelp reviews further confirmed that I needed to visit this restaurant and many of the reviews pointed to trying the Malted Pancakes. How did we make these decisions before Yelp? Lol?? Disclaimer: If you do not have a sweet tooth, the Malted Pancakes is not the dish for you. The Malted Pancakes were visually stunning. They were fluffy, drizzled with hazelnut maple…

    Taylor Eats: SoCo Brooklyn

Perched on Myrtle Avenue, right between Ryerson and Grand Streets in Brooklyn, sits SoCo Restaurant serving southern fusion cuisine. Draped in an all black sleek looking facade with a regal cornice crowning the windows, Soco definitely has curb appeal. I love when businesses keep that historical Brooklyn feel while adding a modern design touch. The Interior certainly does not disappoint either. Exposed brick walls, stainless steel counters with wood accents. I love it! So warm and welcoming. I arrived at Soco at 2 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. I was greeted by the host and seated right away. The atmosphere was very relaxed and old school R&B was playing in the background. Not too loud and not too overwhelming. You should…

Chery’s Global Soul – Bites Before The Brooklyn Museum

I know I can always find exactly what I’m looking for in Brooklyn. On Thursday, I took a trip to the Brooklyn Museum for a crash course in feminist art history. The Brooklyn Museum is one of my favorite spots because there’s always something interesting going on there. In addition, with the assistance of Google, I know I can always find an inexpensive restaurant to try nearby. This time, Google pointed me to Cheryl’s Global Soul located on 236 Underhill Avenue, steps away from the Brooklyn Museum.    Cheryl’s is a small, quaint restaurant perfect for a quick fuel up before tackling the Museum. They have great entrees and appetizers, all priced around ten to fifteen bucks.…

Holy Grail Vitamin E Oil Under $5

Did you know that vitamin E oil is the holy grail of moisturizers? And, wait for it….it only costs $3.99 at your local Trader Joes. It’s completely natural and extremely lightweight! You won’t have to worry about this oil rubbing off on your clothes or hands because it’s not greasy. You can even use it in your hair. Before discovering vitamin E oil, I used Shea Butter as part of my skin care regimen. I liked Shea Butter because it was thick and hydrating but because it’s so oily, I began to notice that my makeup wouldn’t stay on as long as I would desire. That’s when I started my journey to find the ideal oil that would moisturize…

Coney Island: When Life’s A Roller Coaster

Isn’t it funny how as an adult I’ve found my self traveling to Coney Island more than ever. I’ve probably only visited Coney Island twice as a child. I never could understand the hype or excitement in amusement parks. Yes, I’m deathly afraid of roller coasters and extreme heights. But I’m slowly overcoming my fears by conquering one ride at a time just like life. As I get older, I find myself looking to escape to places like Coney Island (not for the rides), but for the serenity. How do I find serenity at an amusement park? Well, there is something calming about being in a park full of people having…
